Safety for care providers is not negotiable. Too many workers don’t have access to the Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) they need. Without the right equipment, they’re being put in harm’s way. When our workers get sick, they won’t be able to take care of you. And that’s the last thing we need right now.

Protecting frontline health care workers protects us all. It’s time for the Nova Scotia government to follow the lead of Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia and New Brunswick by agreeing to ensure adequate health and safety controls for all health care providers, and allowing health care workers to use their judgement to determine the controls necessary in the line of duty.

What can you do to help?

• Stay home, save lives.
• Wash your hands frequently.
• Keep at least 2 metres (6 feet) away from others.
• Tell Premier McNeil that protecting our health care workers protects us all.

Protect NS Frontline is a joint effort by six unions representing health care workers in Nova Scotia working in acute care, long-term care, home care, pre-hospital care and who work as paramedics and other first responders.
